How effective is your Mandarin Chinese language teaching system?

After I have finished attending the 4-month Basic Mandarin Chinese Conversation Course, will I be able to understand most conversations in Mandarin Chinese around me? Will I be able to carry on simple conversations in Mandarin Chinese with the people around me or at work? Will I be able to listen to radio programmes or watch tv programmes in Mandarin Chinese and understand the dialogues? Will I be able to understand Chinese songs in Mandarin?

I am almost 60 years old. Am I too old to learn the Mandarin Chinese language? What is the oldest age suitable to attend your Mandarin Chinese language courses?

My son is 13 years old and my daughter is 15 years old. Are they suitable for your courses? Are they too young? What is the youngest age suitable for attending your Mandarin Chinese language courses?
