I studied Mandarin under "Gao Lao Shi" since 2003.
"Gao Lao Shi" is a teacher who believes that learning should be fun.
He practices what he preaches by giving very entertaining lessons.
His witty remarks, sometimes laced with sarcasm, are marinated with stories of
his experience in life. I look forward to his lessons because he adds spice to an
otherwise dull Saturday afternoon.
I strongly recommend this course to anyone who like me does not have a clue about
Mandarin but is keen to learn. My sessions with "Gao Lao Shi" has been
(and continues to be) an entertaining and rewarding learning experience.

Excellent. I never missed the class as I benefitted a lot from
the course. The teaching methodology is understandable. The notes given
are of great help. What I need is my continuous practice. I should have
have enrolled for the course long time ago!
Gao Laoshi is a real teacher with his own stand / principle which I agree
with. Serious and he really knows what he is doing. The spirit of gaining
knowledge is shared and we feel that we are going to the same direction
ie. to internalize the knowledge, feel it, and use it.

I have benefitted immensely from this course and in a few months
it gave me great confidence to speak basic Mandarin. I find the course well
structured and well planned. In the Basic class, I have learnt sufficient
words for basic conversation. The Intermediate class really picked up
momentum. I felt comfortable with the pace.
As for Laoshi's teaching method, a well balanced approach to a wide variety of
students of varying standards. Congratulations for a job well done.
Laoshi, you have injected humour to avoid boredom and topics of interest
to keep the class awake. You maintain good eye contact and vocal variety
with good body language. Presentation is clear and audible.
Explanations are commendable.
The syllabus has been most useful and practical too. Oh yes,
last but not least, I would like to thank Laoshi from the bottom
of my heart. One year ago, before I started learning the
Mandarin Chinese language with
Laoshi, I could hardly speak any Mandarin at all. Today, I could converse
fairly well with my customers and suppliers and they are very happy and impressed.
